Turning Your Thoughts Into Objects

Wrestling with something big?

It’s hard to find the way out of a tail spin if you keep it all in your head. The New Happy defined thoughts as “fragments and representations of information bouncing around inside of your head”. If you take them out of your head and onto paper, they become objects. As words on a page, these objects can be viewed with a more neutral perspective, which can offer a means to reconcile them into productive action.

The next time you find yourself spinning out of control, take a few minutes to capture your thoughts onto paper. Close your notebook and move on for a bit.

Come back to it from a neutral perspective and see if there is anything you missed.

I did it recently and it worked famously.
